Last week, Scott was helping a friend jump her car, and look what he found! A lizard had climbed up under the hood, and got caught by the motor. By the time he found it, it was quemado (burnt to the crisp!). Hector, our gardener put on his gloves and pulled it out it pieces. In Chicago, I had always heard of rats getting into cars and chewing cables, but who would have thought an iguana would find himself in this predicament! Everyone was facinated!

Waterfall Jumping
I have to admit, when my friend, Gilberth suggested that we go out to a river and jump off a waterfall, I was a little more than nervous. When we got there, I saw the 20 foot drop, and thought, "Really, that's it?" After climbing to the top, however, I realized that it was still no small jump. After a few missed pictures, Nata took this video of Gil and I jumping off. Even after three times, I was still nervous. You see Gil mocking me, pretending to be nervous to jump... he was a little more graceful that I was... (this is my first video post, bare with it, I don't know how to edit.)
Pictures of the waterfall, it was absolutely beautiful.
Below, Gil climbing up. Gil, Natasha, and Memo on the side of the waterfall. In the next picture below you see them holding out their guns. During indoor soccer, they picked on the fact that I yell "Shoot!" when I screw up. They asked what it meant, so I had some explaining to do. Entonces, this is my new motion.
Nata, scared to jump, Gil mid-jump
We brought a cooler for lunch. So the boys toted it across the river and up the rocks. The only thing we forgot was a knife... so the tomato was cut with my car keys...
The Office Crew
Every morning, from eight until about two, I work at the Palm Coast Properties office, in a complex called the Plaza Yara. I am blessed to be surrounded with offices that have secretaries a lot like me- who love coffee and helping each other translate between languages, cultures, and the way things work (or dont work) here. Or simply someone to stop in, say hi, and share your fascination with the sloth that is crossing the road.

Above, Ursula and me. She has been a great help, and has become a great friend. Ursula has helped me in so many ways! Everything from translation to the how and when to pay bills. I've had the chance to hang out with her three small boys, and hopefully she'll teach me to surf soon!

Ursula works in a lawyers office- above, her and Frank, the main lawyer of their branch and the only tico to ever call me Anna Banana. To the left, Me, Ursula, the new sandwich guy (that sounds bad- I do know his name, it is just gone right now) and Adrea, who works at the architect's office next to mine. Can you tell I am the gringa, no one else would smile!!

Above, some old pictures of me in our office.
